Let it be said that I have been corrected many times whilst cooking the dinner. Tomatoes are not a vegetable, tomatoes are a fruit.
That they are. The definition being that they come from a flowering plant and have seeds. So I am told. Kids these days are so clever.
And so day 2 of the March Photo-a-day is a photo of some of the amazing tomatoes currently growing in my garden. Hold on little tomatoes, we have the storm of the year lining up to hit tonight. I've flipped the trampoline, I've stacked the deck chairs, let's hope the tomatoes make it.
Laters
Ditto!!! Guess what I photographed? A dish of tomatoes which are of course technically fruit!

Did the tomatoes make it??
Also, something funny I read the other week....
Knowledge: Knowing tomatoes are a fruit, not a vegetable.
Experience: Knowing not to put them in a fruit salad.

I was wondering the same thing. Did the tomatoes survive? We are going into spring here in the US, but living about 6 or so hours south of the Canada border, our growing season is kind of short. We can't plant anything until very early June for fear of a possible frost. Plants start fading in September. I had so many tomatoes last year, I attempted canning for the first time. I know all about stacking and flipping things here too. We get plenty of storms through here. I think I am better off leaving the glass table for my deck in the garage. :) Hope your weekend was a good one!
